Parkijuli Christian Hospital

Parkijuli Christian Hospital is a community-based rural hospital located near Guwahati, Assam, India, serving a population of about 100,000 people. It is supported by the Northern Evangelical Lutheran Church (NELC) and partners with organizations such as Global Health Ministries (GHM) to improve healthcare quality and sustainability. The hospital offers emergency services, advanced laparoscopic and urological surgeries, and emphasizes compassionate care regardless of race, religion, or national origin. The hospital has seen significant improvements, including the introduction of surgical lights, generators for backup power, a water pump, anesthesia machines, and laparoscopic surgery equipment. These upgrades have enabled it to resume laparoscopic surgeries, which provide vital revenue and hope for patients. Despite financial challenges, it remains an essential medical facility in an underserved area, with dedicated doctors committed to serving the community.  In addition to medical services, Parkijuli Christian Hospital engages in health education and promotion at the village level, working through Community Health Workers to tackle diseases like malaria and tuberculosis. The hospital is recognized for its integrated approach to healthcare, focusing on quality treatment and community well-being with support from NELC and partners.
